The Contract Production process

We offer a comprehensive range of sub-contract electronics services and can be your manufacturing partner from the very beginning of your project, right through to completion. Or, if you just need us for one part of your project, we can do that too! Whatever you need, we’re here to help.

The key stages of development are:

Production Engineering

Production Engineering

It is our mission at Contract Production to consistently provide high-quality, reliable and competitively-priced electronic assemblies and products to all our customers. To this end, all relevant data and job files are thoroughly reviewed and checked at the quotation stage.

This process involves vetting all supplied data and drawings to ensure the PCB and electronic assembly meet our manufacturing design rules and process parameters. Where necessary, any potential issues are identified and flagged for review. This engineering process allows for any issues to be rectified prior to manufacture, saving you time and money.

Component Procurement

Component Procurement

The next stage of our process is to source all the necessary components for your PCB. Not only will this save you time, but it will also reduce your costs, as we have great relationships with well-established suppliers and can secure components at cost price. It also allows us greater control of the production and assembly process, as we never source parts from a supplier we don’t trust. We’re able to ensure that every component we use is of the highest quality, which reduces the risk of issues being found later in the production process.

PCB Assembly Services

PCB Assembly Services

Our PCB assembly service caters for a broad range of modern and legacy assembly techniques. From simple through-hole designs to modern multi-layer, flex-rigid and HDI (high-density interconnector) PCB technologies, all data is design rule checked (DRC) and panelised to ensure compliance and best yield for our manufacturing processes. In addition, surface mount solder stencils are checked and engineered with thickness and aperture types, optimised to ensure precise paste volume and application for the SMT production process.

Inspection and Test

Inspection and Test

All Contract Production PCBs and electronic assemblies are manufactured and inspected to the latest revision of the IPC-A-610 standard. They also pass through several key visual and AOI (automatic optical inspection) inspection stages on their journey through our manufacturing facility. Additionally, our bare PCBs are only manufactured on UL-approved laminates/substrates with a flammability rating of 94V-0, all PCBs are certified as 100% electrically tested.
